Hand Dryer Voltage Explained
110V, 208V, 220V, & 277V Selection Guide
Most commercial hand dryers have specific voltage options. The most common hand dryer voltage in the United States is 110V-120V.
High-voltage hand dryers (208-277 volts) are more common internationally and in larger commercial buildings and industrial sites.
Please Note:
- If you're looking to purchase a hand dryer, but don't yet know your facility's voltage setting, please contact your facility manager and or a certified electrician.
- If either option is not available, please consider a universal voltage hand dryer from World Dryer or Saniflow Corporation.
- These high-speed hand dryers will auto-configure to meet your facility's specifications.
Why is the Right Voltage Important?
- Safety: Using the wrong voltage can be dangerous, leading to overheating, electrical damage, or even fire.
- Performance: Your hand dryer won't work properly (or at all!) if the voltage is incorrect.
- Durability & Warranty: Mismatched voltage can significantly shorten your hand dryer's lifespan and may even void the manufacturer's warranty.
