FOUNDATIONS® 100SSV-SM Surface-Mounted, Vertical-Folding Full Stainless Steel Baby Changing Station

Part of Foundations’ “Premium Stainless” series, the entire structure of the surface-mounted 100SSV-SM is fabricated out of 16 gauge 304 brushed stainless steel – the only one of its kind.  The changing surface is a replaceable tray liner that is vacuum-formed out of ABS plastic and light gray in color.  It is easy to clean and resistant to odors and bacteria growth. The safety message and graphics are displayed in English, Spanish & French on the large, color safety decal located just above the changing surface (when folded open).

This fold-down baby changing table is designed to be surface mounted to the wall using the included hardware. Pre-drilled mounting holes are designed for wood studs on 16″ centers. (For installation in the wall that does not have wood studs 16″ on center, metal studs, or concrete block, toggle fasteners may need to be purchased locally by the buyer.) The station folds down vertically so the adult is facing the wall while changing the infant whose is lying perpendicular to the wall (head towards the wall with feet projecting out). With a reinforced steel-on-steel hinge running the full length of the station, the 100SSV-SM meets all ASTM F2285 requirements for static load performance when properly installed. A pneumatic shock mechanism provides for slow, controlled opening and closing of the bed.  Both the pneumatic shock and metal hinge mechanism are fully concealed (regardless of bed position) to eliminate tampering and possible pinch hazard.  Although designed for infants that weigh no more than 50 lbs, in testing the 100SSV-SM easily supported three times as much with minimal deflection of the “bed” from horizontal.

The contoured changing surface comes complete with a smooth nylon belt with a Thermoplastic Polyurethane coating. The cam-buckle of the safety strap is adjustable with one hand.  Folded closed the changer’s dimensions are  23-1/4″W x 33-3/8″H x 4″D. When open, the changer’s 20-3/4″ wide “bed” projects from the wall 33-7/8″ with cushioned safety corners. When properly installed, this changer complies with the highest Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations. A door sign alerting your customers to the presence of a changing station within the restroom is included; the easily understood symbol is universally recognized.  Mounting instructions and hardware included.
